If you haven't already could you explain the best monitors to use for graphic design? I'd also like to know what resolution(s) would be acceptable, as well as preparing optimal lighting.

How can I find a personal mentor and/or counselor to help me start my career? Someone that I can personally talk to about my work. I have been struggling to get paid for the work that I do. Having someone who knows about the industry and can help me make my dream a reality would be soooo appreciated!

It would be great if you could do an in depth video covering different career paths and what the briefs / work is like on a day to day basis. I'm going into my final year of study and I think I want to get into branding but am currently unsure. Keep up the good content!

A great insight into design and careers. I'll suggest another direction. There are lots of somewhat "obscure" paths out there that can provide good jobs for deisgners, illustrators, and production artists. I just retired from a 32 year career creating art for a company that makes plastic drinking vessels and custom decorates them. I was, in fact, the Art Director and it's an exciting, challenging and rewarding field (with the right company of course). All of the skills you mention come into play here. My suggestion is that it's important to look at fringe industries that many may not even consider or even know about. Any company that makes something with pictures on it is an option. You may not have the glamour (or salary) of a high end agency job, but you may have a great, fun job that pays the bills. Funny thing is, I ended up working with many of the biggest corporations in the world and their agencies. Just putting art on mugs and cups. I never would have believed it 32 years ago.
On a side note, many of these types of companies here in the US are looking for additional help and often reach out to resources in other countries, thinking it's "less expensive". I tried that but it was a disaster because of the very specialized needs of our art process. An enterprising designer could easily recapture some of that work with good communication and strong skills.
